Low and behold I run in with one of the worlds most powerful and feared men... and I just wanted to pick him up and squeeze him like a child's teddy bear. He certainly has a media persona that does not match the man himself.

In this episode, which is more of a back-and-forth dialogue between Gonzalo Lira and myself, we discuss my chance encounter with the f*ck#ng mayor of Chicago and meander into side topics that add color to the main discussion.

  • Sheesh. I just listened to this podcast (and stopped at your site to get the correct spelling of Gonzola's name so I can catch his blog) Really - what a relief to hear *honest* reactions. Please don't start bowdlerizing your content. When I hear a comment that 'slams' someone I might like, I usually stop and think "Hmmm, well, is there some truth to this?" And btw, if you are going to call the view women 'hags' or 'crows', remember to find some equally insulting phrase to use on those pale males in expensive suits who are just as likely to sit in a cluster and pontificate on ridiculously trivial subjects. Just sayin'

  • Bob, I'm sorry you feel that way. Because of my lack of time in the past week I did not review the episode before I posted it. I don't remember any specific attack on the right wing besides GL calling Palin an idiot. But now that we are talking about Palin, I think she is just a media darling and not much else. If it makes you feel any better I got an email yesterday that Two Beers With Steve has 'jumped the shark'. I better get my head out of rear-end before I drive this show into the ground... Steve

  • Steve this talk with Lira was one of the saddest things that has happened to me in a long time. Why on earth does he have to slam everyone on the right. I to not live on the right or the left, we both know they come from the same womb. But the Obama-saint and smart / Palin-evil and dumb is not necessary. We can make excellent points on all issues so why go slamming people. Shame! Been listening for a long time.
